Digital Marketing Policy

Digital Marketing Policy

National Journal of Health Sciences (NJHS) may occasionally use direct marketing methods, such as calls for papers, conference announcements, or promotional emails to communicate with researchers and professionals in Health Sciences. This policy governs all such activity and is consistent with the COPE/DOAJ/OASPA/WAME Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing and the ICMJE/WAME statement on editorial independence.

  1. Manner and targeting. All direct marketing, including solicitation of manuscripts, is conducted in an appropriate, well-targeted, and unobtrusive manner. Communications are sent only to individuals or institutions with a genuine academic or professional interest in Health Sciences, using contact information obtained through legitimate, appropriate means.
  2. Accuracy. All information provided about the journal, including its scope, editorial and peer-review policies, indexing status, and any citation or performance metrics is accurate, current, and not misleading. NJHS does not claim indexing, affiliations, or metrics it does not have.
  3. No guarantee of acceptance. Consistent with NJHS’s peer-review policy as a whole (not only its marketing copy), no communication may state or imply that a submission will be accepted, or reviewed favorably, and no unrealistic publication or review timelines are promised.
  4. Independence from editorial decisions. Marketing activity is kept entirely separate from editorial decision-making. The Editor-in-Chief and editorial board retain full authority over manuscript evaluation, peer review, and acceptance decisions; marketing staff or third-party agents have no role in, and no ability to influence, these decisions.
  5. Right to opt out. Any recipient including prospective authors with no prior relationship to the journal may opt out of future marketing communications at any time, via a working unsubscribe mechanism or a direct request to the editorial office. Opt-out requests are honored promptly.
  6. Responsible data use. Contact information used for marketing is obtained and handled in line with applicable data protection and anti-spam requirements, and is not sold or shared with third parties for unrelated commercial purposes.
  7. Accountability. The Editor-in-Chief or a designated member of the editorial office reviews marketing content before distribution to confirm compliance with this policy.

Note: The above policy aligned with the COPE/DOAJ/OASPA/WAME Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (v4.0, 2022) and the ICMJE/WAME statement on editorial independence.
