Copyright License
The National Journal of Health Sciences (NJHS) is a fully open-access, Diamond Open Access journal. All articles published by the journal are freely available immediately upon publication and may be read, downloaded, copied, shared, and reused in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons license.
Copyright Ownership
Authors retain the copyright in their published work. By submitting a manuscript to the National Journal of Health Sciences, authors confirm that they have the necessary rights to submit the work for publication. Upon acceptance and publication, authors grant the National Journal of Health Sciences the right of first publication and the non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, and make the article publicly available as part of the journal’s scholarly record. The retention of copyright by authors does not restrict the rights granted to users under the Creative Commons license specified below.
Open-Access License
All articles published in the National Journal of Health Sciences are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
Under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license, users are free to:
- Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
- Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material.
These freedoms are permitted provided that the following conditions are observed:
Attribution
Appropriate credit must be given to the authors and the original publication. Users must provide a link to the CC BY-NC 4.0 license and indicate if changes were made. Attribution may be provided in any reasonable manner, but it must not suggest that the authors, the National Journal of Health Sciences, or its publisher endorse the user or the user’s use of the material.
NonCommercial
The material may not be used for commercial purposes. Commercial use means use that is primarily intended for commercial advantage or monetary compensation.
No Additional Restrictions
Users may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from exercising the rights permitted by the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.
Adaptation and Derivative Works
CC BY-NC 4.0 permits non-commercial adaptation of published material, including remixing, transforming, and building upon the work. Where material is adapted, users must appropriately acknowledge the original work, provide a link to the applicable license, and indicate that changes were made. Adapted material must not be presented in a manner that implies endorsement by the original authors, the National Journal of Health Sciences, or its publisher.
Third-Party Material
Unless otherwise indicated, material contained within an article is covered by the article’s stated Creative Commons license. Where an article contains third-party material, including photographs, figures, tables, illustrations, datasets, or other content that is not owned by the authors, the applicable copyright or licensing conditions should be identified in the article. Third-party material may be subject to separate copyright or permission requirements and may not automatically be covered by the CC BY-NC 4.0 license. Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions for copyrighted third-party material included in their submissions.
Copyright and License Statement in Published Articles
The copyright and licensing information shall be displayed clearly in all published versions of an article, including the PDF and HTML versions, and shall identify the applicable Creative Commons license and provide a link to the official license. The standard copyright and license statement shall identify the copyright as belonging to the authors and shall state that the article is distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
Author Agreement
By publishing an article in the National Journal of Health Sciences, authors retain copyright in their work while granting the journal the right of first publication and agreeing that the published article will be made available under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license. The CC BY-NC 4.0 license permits copying, redistribution, remixing, transformation, and building upon the published work for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate attribution and the other license requirements are satisfied. The complete legal terms of the license are available from Creative Commons. This policy applies to articles published by the National Journal of Health Sciences unless a different licensing arrangement is explicitly stated for a particular article.
